What is Cartavi?
Cartavi is web-based software that lets you securely share documents with everyone involved in the process of buying or selling residential real estate. It gives you one place to store, access, and share all your transaction documents from your desk or on the go. Cartavi is a hosted application (nothing to install or update), which you can access from anywhere you have an internet connection and a supported browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Internet Explorer 7 or later). How do you say it?
“KAHR-tah-vee.” Cartavi is “new Latin,” based on “carta,” which means “document,” and “vi,” which comes from “vita” or “life.” The thought behind the name was to create a word that stands for a place where your documents live.

Who uses Cartavi?
Everyone involved in the transaction can benefit from using Cartavi. Buying and selling residential real estate is a document-intensive process, but we try to make it easier. Our current users include independent agents, brokers and sales associates, attorneys, home inspectors, lending officers, and title agents.
Are my documents secure?
The integrity of your data is very important to us. We have taken great steps to ensure our systems and servers keep your documents protected. We use bank-level security standards and technology, so your documents are protected by encryption while they’re moving between your computer (or smartphone) and our servers and while at rest. This means that, even if a hacker were able to gain access to our data centers, your documents would be completely useless, because the information would be unreadable. Finally, your data is secured on multiple servers located in different parts of the country and backed up nightly. In the event of a disaster, we will be able to fully recover any data that may be lost.
How much does Cartavi cost?
We have four service plans to choose from, starting with a Free Plan that lets you experience Cartavi without any obligation. With our Free Plan, you can create and manage up to three transactions of your own, and be an active participant in an unlimited number of transactions created by other Cartavi users. If you decide Cartavi is right for you, consider upgrading to one of our paid plans, which allows you to create unlimited Transaction Rooms, gives you access to extra features like inbound and outbound faxing straight from the app or your iPhone, and provides you with more storage space for your personal and transaction-related documents.
How do I upgrade?
Upgrading your plan is easy. If you have an active Cartavi account, login and go to your My Account page from the dropdown menu under your login name at the top right of the screen. Next, click the upgrade link on your Account tab, and choose the plan that's right for you.
Does my client need an account in order to use Cartavi?
No, your clients or other parties to your transaction do not need to have a registered account to benefit from using Cartavi. You can share documents with anyone.
How do I get the iPhone and iPad app?
Cartavi mobile for iOS is free and available for download through iTunes App Store, but you will need to sign up for an account in order to use the app. Click here for more information and to download it today.
How do I get the Android app?
Cartavi mobile is also free for Android. If you already have a Cartavi account, click here to visit Android Market on the web. The easiest way to download the app is to visit the Android Market on your phone, and search for Cartavi to install it directly to your device.
Do I need to create another account to use the iPhone or Android apps?
No, just install the version that works with your phone, and then provide your current Cartavi username and password at the login screen to access your existing account.
